House Renovations Part II

Mark being the most excellent husband that he is...used his very precious spare time to rip up the final carpet from the bedroom. It looks pretty much like the TV room, scratched up with the giant rectangle of adhesive residue in the middle. But it still much prefered to the carpet.

See photo of the new & improved bedroom:

Now that the floor is free of nasty carpet, this facilitated the purchase of OOMA!!! She is our new iRobot 780 vacuum cleaner that zips under beds, around corners, under dressers, in closets.

It is AMAZING the difference it makes to #1 - not have to vacuum every other day by hand because of mountains of dog/cat hair and #2 - how wonderful and clean the floor looks now - SPOTLESS!!

It has also made us very cognizant of clutter. To let OOMA do her job, we have to make sure that everything is off the floor when she runs her scheduled cleaning. No shoes on the floor, dog/cat toys, dog beds, etc.

So that lead to Mark's fantastic surprise project while I was away in Belgium - CLOSET REORG!!! See why I love this guy, ladies? Oh wait...no ladies read this.

All the shoes have a home up and away from OOMA's grabby little hands:

Mark also hung up our new photo frames (from Ma & Pa Halter) that contain St. Kitts photos to complement the St. Kitt's Shells and Monkey Skull that adorn our upstairs landing. We are such amazing interior decorators!!!

Eventually our house will be perfect...only need to: fix bathroom sink, paint front porch steps, refinish floors, paint kitchen & fix ceiling, clean/org basement again, paint/replace siding & stucco, and on & on & on & on. Luckily we plan on never moving again...so we have plenty of time.

Love to my peoples on the Blogosphere!
