CSA - WEEK ONE!!!

We met Jerry & Elizabeth Eaton yesterday morning after getting a slightly late start to our Farmer's Market experience. We arrived about 10:45am and picked up our big farm basket of veggies. This week, as expected, we got a lot of greens!!

In the basket: Strawberries, Radishes, Green Onions, Chinese Cabbage, Beet Greens, Leaf Lettuce, and a big bag of baby greens.

We also bought two basil plants, two sweet bell pepper plants, and a beautiful bunch of Asparagus...so delicious!!!


From Blue Oven Bakery...we bought this super yummy foccocia:



And from a blast from my past, Ohio City Pasta of Cleveland is now selling at the Hyde Park market. So I just had to buy a package of Spinach Ravioli!! YUM! I used to buy this when I went to the West Side Market in Cleve-O!!

In an unrelated to the Farmer's Market, but related food note: We also found out that we could purchase Ohio Amish cheese from the inter-web machine - Guggisberg Cheese...so we ordered 20lbs!! It arrived on Friday and it was a little more cheese than I bargained for...had to chop it all up and freeze most of it. The two big wheels of white cheese on the right is called "Amish Butter Cheese" and it is amazing!! Kind of like really mellow mozzerella with a hint of swiss...and very melty good. Love cheese!!!

All in all...a good week for food at our house!
